Contract Attorney

Robert Half is looking for an experienced Attorney to support a nonprofit organization on a contract basis. This part time role is 8-10 hours per week and is 100% remote. This opportunity focuses on providing practical legal guidance for a range of commercial and organizational agreements, with an emphasis on careful review, negotiation strategy, and clear risk assessment. The person in this role will help business partners address contract-related issues efficiently while maintaining strong legal and compliance standards.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate, draft, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including matters involving detailed or highly customized legal terms.

• Mark up contract language, propose revisions, and refine documents to align with organizational needs and risk tolerance.

• Provide legal counsel on contract interpretation, obligations, and potential exposure tied to proposed terms.

• Support stakeholders by answering escalated legal questions related to agreements, negotiations, and contract structure.

• Develop and revise contractual provisions for new arrangements, including third-party agreements and sub-recipient terms where applicable.

• Partner with internal teams to resolve complex negotiation issues and help move agreements through review in a timely manner.

• Identify legal concerns within contract language and recommend practical solutions that balance protection with business objectives.

Qualifications:

• Licensed attorney in good standing or JD

• 5+ years of experience handling contracts in a legal practice or in-house environment.

• Strong background in commercial contract review, drafting, and negotiation.

• Demonstrated ability to perform redlining and revise legal documents with precision.

• Sound judgment in assessing legal risk and explaining contract implications to non-legal stakeholders.

• Ability to manage multiple agreement reviews and respond effectively to time-sensitive matters.
