File Clerk

We are looking for a dependable File Clerk to support daily office operations in Lansing, Michigan. This is a Contract position designed for a short-term, part-time onsite assignment, ideal for someone who works well independently and stays organized in a quiet office setting. The person in this role will help manage incoming correspondence, coordinate local mail drop-offs, and keep administrative tasks moving efficiently. Success in this position requires reliability, close attention to detail, and the ability to handle routine responsibilities with minimal supervision. 9:30am-1:30pm

Responsibilities:

• Receive incoming mail and route it to the appropriate destination without opening sealed correspondence.

• Complete scheduled trips to the post office and nearby shipping locations to send or collect materials as needed.

• Maintain orderly file and document handling practices to support accurate administrative processing.

• Organize incoming items and ensure paperwork is distributed promptly and correctly.

• Work independently in the office while maintaining consistent productivity and accountability.

• Support basic operational tasks that help keep day-to-day office functions running smoothly.

Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license is required for local mail run.

• Demonstrated ability to stay organized and manage routine tasks carefully.

• Strong attention to detail when handling documents and correspondence.

• Dependability is essential, as this role works onsite with limited direct supervision.

• Ability to work effectively in an independent office environment.

• Previous experience in clerical, filing, mail handling, or administrative support work is preferred.
