Grant Accountant

Compensation: $35.63 to $41.25 Hourly

We are looking for a Grant Accountant to support financial oversight and reporting for grant-funded programs. This is a Contract position suited for an accounting specialist who can manage fund activity, maintain compliance with government grant requirements, and produce accurate financial records. The role will work closely with program and finance teams to monitor grant performance, track restricted funding, and strengthen day-to-day grant accounting operations.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee accounting activity for grant-supported programs, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and align with funding restrictions.
• Prepare financial reports, reconciliations, and supporting schedules related to government grants and designated funds.
• Monitor grant budgets against actual expenditures and highlight variances, spending trends, and compliance concerns to stakeholders.
• Administer fund accounting processes, including tracking balances, maintaining net asset records, and supporting accurate reporting by funding source.
• Review grant agreements and award documentation to apply proper accounting treatment and meet reporting obligations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to gather financial data, resolve discrepancies, and support timely submission of grant-related reports.
• Maintain documentation for audits and reviews by organizing records that support expenses, allocations, and fund activity.
• Utilize accounting platforms such as Abila MIP and QuickBooks to process entries, reconcile accounts, and manage grant financial information.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience in accounting with direct exposure to grant management or government-funded programs.
• Working knowledge of fund administration principles and financial tracking for restricted or designated funds.
• Experience preparing reconciliations, budget-to-actual reporting, and grant-related financial documentation.
• Familiarity with net asset accounting and reporting concepts within nonprofit or grant-funded environments.
• Proficiency with Abila MIP and QuickBooks for accounting, reporting, and account maintenance.
• Strong understanding of government grant compliance requirements and supporting financial controls.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain accurate records.

Compensation

$35.63-$41.25 Hourly
