Payroll Processor

A respected family-owned construction company in Escondido is looking for a Payroll Processor to support payroll administration for field and office employees. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a close-knit environment and appreciates being part of a team where accuracy, accountability, and relationships matter.

The Payroll Processor will work closely with accounting, project management, and leadership teams to ensure payroll information is processed efficiently and accurately.

Responsibilities

Payroll Processing

• Process weekly payroll for field crews and office personnel
• Review timecards, job costing information, and employee hours
• Verify payroll deductions, benefits, and employee information
• Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation
• Process employee changes including wage adjustments and new hire information

Project & Administrative Support

• Assist with job cost reporting and labor tracking
• Maintain payroll files and employee records
• Support payroll audits and reporting requirements
• Coordinate with project managers regarding labor allocations and payroll corrections

Accounting Assistance

• Assist with invoice entry and administrative accounting support
• Support reconciliations and reporting activities
• Maintain organized payroll and accounting documentation

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of payroll processing experience
• Construction, contracting, or project-based payroll experience preferred
• Familiarity with prevailing wage environments is a plus
• Experience with payroll systems such as Foundation, Viewpoint, ADP, or Paychex preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
