Dispatcher

We are looking for a reliable and attentive Dispatcher to join our team in Henrico, Virginia. This is a Contract to permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity for career growth within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The role involves managing overnight shifts and ensuring seamless communication and coordination among team members.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate nightly freight movement, ensuring loads are efficiently planned and routed.

Manage high call volumes with terminals and internal dispatch teams to coordinate shipments.

Plan and assign loads to appropriate drivers, routes, and equipment to ensure timely delivery.

Communicate with terminals across multiple hubs to organize freight movement and resolve routing challenges.

Collaborate with other dispatchers to coordinate shipments moving across different territories or regions.

Monitor freight flow and adjust plans in real time based on shipment volume, operational needs, or delays.

Utilize internal systems and Microsoft Excel to track loads, routes, and operational updates.

Identify and resolve logistical issues quickly to keep freight moving efficiently.

Qualifications:

Previous dispatch, logistics, transportation, or operations coordination experience strongly preferred.

Strong geographic awareness and ability to understand freight routes and regional logistics.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication skills, both over the phone and in person.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing operational needs.

Highly organized with strong attention to detail.

Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and eagerness to learn.

Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple teams and department
