  • The starting pay for this position is $21.31-$23.97, depending on experience.

    About the role:

    The Home Equity Processor is responsible for proactively achieving high performance standards throughout the processing of HELOCs and Home Equity Loans. This role ensures regulatory compliance, timely and accurate member communication, and efficient loan closings, all in alignment with the credit union’s policies, procedures, and service expectations.

    Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with the member and Branch to determine the need and how to originate the home equity loan applications and aid in member applying for the loan request. Reviews home equity loan application files to verify that application data is complete. Maintains Home Equity pipeline and schedules closing with members. Communicates underwriting decisions to members and branch associates. Works with members and branch associates to clear underwriting conditions to reach a clear to close. Clears underwriting conditions.
  • Orders title commitments, flood certifications, appraisals, loan verifications, mortgage insurance, verification of income, and updates Homeowners Insurance.
  • Completes and sends required RESPA/TRID disclosures.
  • Ensures that the members receive their appraisals within the allowed given timeline to meet expected closing dates.
  • Audit the mortgage loan application and file before passing the file to the Universal Closer to complete the closing process.
  • Collects and prepares information for use in discussions and meetings.
  • Organizes loan file for underwriter review 
  • Actively looks for other ways to help members involving working with other departments in the Credit Union.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Minimum Qualifications:

    Experience

  • One year to three years of similar or related experience.
  • Education/Certifications/Licenses

  • A high school degree or equivalent
  • Interpersonal Skills

  • Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
