General Liability Attorney

We are looking for a General Liability Attorney to join a dynamic midsize law firm based in Melville, New York. In this role, you will handle a wide range of litigation matters, including personal injury defense, tort claims, and municipal cases. Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in various general liability matters, including auto accidents, premises liability, and product-related claims.

• Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, and other court documents.

• Manage all phases of discovery, including depositions, interrogatories, and document production.

• Collaborate with colleagues and clients to develop effective case strategies.

• Provide thorough legal analysis and advice to clients regarding case developments and potential outcomes.

• Attend hearings, mediations, and trials to advocate on behalf of clients.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations to ensure compliance and effective case handling.

• Participate in firm initiatives and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.

• Engage in mentorship opportunities and support the growth of attorneys who are beginning their careers.

• Foster relationships with community organizations to enhance the firm's presence and commitment to local causes.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in New York State.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil litigation.
• Strong skills in legal writing, communication, and analytical reasoning.
• Demonstrated ability to draft motions, briefs, and other legal documents with precision.
• Proficiency in managing discovery processes, including document review and depositions.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently on assigned cases.
• Commitment to growth and community engagement with attention to detail.

Compensation

$110,000.00-$120,000.00 Yearly
