Tax Staff - Corporate
Responsibilities:
• Manage recurring sales tax, excise tax, direct-to-consumer shipping, and wholesale filing activities for clients operating across numerous jurisdictions.
• Review transactional and order-level information, extract reporting data from compliance platforms, and resolve discrepancies before filings are submitted.
• Create and maintain workpapers, filing support, and audit-ready documentation that align with internal standards and jurisdictional requirements.
• Organize digital and physical records, including confirmations and supporting materials, to ensure documentation is complete and easy to retrieve.
• Maintain accurate compliance files and verify that all required backup materials are properly retained within shared systems and internal repositories.
• Use workflow management tools to monitor assignments, track due dates, update filing status, and manage recurring compliance tasks.
• Collaborate with internal team members to address missing details, clarify reporting questions, and follow up on outstanding operational items.
• Provide additional support with notice responses, account updates, registrations, and other tax compliance projects as needed.
Qualifications:
• At least 2 years of experience in tax compliance, accounting, bookkeeping, indirect tax, sales and use tax, or a closely related function.• Background handling recurring, high-volume transactional filings with strong consistency and accuracy.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to stay organized in a deadline-focused work environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify exceptions, data irregularities, and reporting concerns before submission.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets, Adobe Pro, Google Drive, Google Docs, and web-based filing systems.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with a thorough and service-oriented approach.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of assigned responsibilities, and follow through reliably.
• Experience with ShipCompliant, beverage alcohol compliance, ClickUp, or similar workflow and reporting platforms is preferred but not required.
Compensation
