Senior Statutory Accountant

River Ridge, LA 70123, US Full Time
Compensation: $125 to $150 Yearly

We are looking for an experienced Senior Statutory Accountant to strengthen financial reporting operations and support a growing organization in River Ridge, Louisiana. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate books, preparing statutory reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively across reporting cycles and cross-functional teams.


Responsibilities:

• Oversee general ledger activity by reviewing transactions, posting entries, and resolving discrepancies to keep financial records accurate and complete.

• Produce financial statements and supporting analyses by evaluating account activity, identifying trends, and summarizing key reporting data.

• Prepare and monitor balance sheet and income statement reporting to support statutory accounting requirements and leadership review.

• Record and organize accounting activity with clear documentation that supports audit readiness and internal transparency.

• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end statutory close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting deliverables.

• Compile schedules and financial information needed by external tax advisors and auditors during review and filing cycles.

• Apply financial controls, accounting policies, and regulatory standards to maintain compliance across all reporting activities.

• Assist with reconciliations across cash, balance sheet, and other key accounts to verify completeness and accuracy of reported results.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in statutory accounting.
• Strong understanding of statutory accounting practices, reporting requirements, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Hands-on experience preparing quarterly and annual statutory filings, including supporting schedules.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience building detailed forecasts, budgets, or financial models to support planning and analysis.
• Familiarity with corporate tax concepts, accounting controls, and process documentation.
• Practical experience using accounting platforms such as Business Central, Dynamics, Sapiens, or similar systems.

Compensation

$125,000.00-$150,000.00 Yearly
