Staff Accountant
Our established client is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join a growing finance team in Houston, Texas. This role supports core accounting operations across inventory, receivables, partnership accounting, and monthly financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of reconciliations, and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Manage accounting and reconciliation activities for debt portfolios, including fixed-rate and variable-rate loans, ensuring accurate interest accruals, amortization schedules, and compliance with loan agreements.
• Support accounting for interest rate swaps and other hedging instruments by preparing journal entries, reconciling balances, and assisting with monthly financial reporting and audit support.
• Reconcile receivable accounts, including accounts receivable, notes receivable, and allowance balances for uncollectible accounts.
• Maintain miscellaneous accrual schedules and ensure related balances are accurate and fully supported.
• Oversee accounting activities for designated partnership entities, including routine financial review and record maintenance.
• Develop monthly analyses of gross profit and operating expenses for used machinery operations and partnership business units.
• Contribute to general ledger maintenance, internal financial reporting, and month-end closing tasks.
• Assist with financial reviews, audit support, and other ad hoc accounting analysis as business needs arise.

Qualifications:
• At least 3 years of accounting experience in a corporate or related business environment.
• Demonstrated strength in account reconciliations and financial analysis.
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with strong capability in Excel.
• Hands-on experience using ERP or business systems, including proficiency with PivotTables and data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with general ledger activity, journal entries, and month-end close processes.
• Strong organizational skills, close attention to detail, and the ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
