Sr. Software Engineer

Compensation: $100 to $130 Yearly

Job Summary Our client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design, development, integration, and support of business-critical applications. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who can mentor team members, modernize legacy systems, build scalable cloud-based solutions, and partner closely with business stakeholders to deliver high-quality software that supports evolving operational needs. Primary Responsibilities Provide leadership and mentorship to software engineering team members, fostering a collaborative environment focused on production excellence and continuous product improvement. Evaluate programming and application development requests, determining feasibility and identifying opportunities to enhance existing systems and capabilities. Lead the planning, development, documentation, testing, and deployment of business-critical applications and enhancements. Partner with business stakeholders to clarify operational procedures, define program objectives, and translate requirements into technical solutions. Apply structured analysis and design techniques to create application specifications, including flowcharts, diagrams, and other technical documentation. Share application and domain knowledge across teams to strengthen collaboration between software, infrastructure, and other cross-functional groups. Provide production support, including application monitoring, troubleshooting, and issue resolution. Oversee integrations between internal systems and external platforms, including marketing technology, CRM systems, and third-party SaaS providers. Migrate legacy middleware workflows to secure, modern cloud-based architectures. Build and maintain cloud infrastructure using AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, VPC, IAM, and CloudFormation/CDK. Implement and support CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment using tools such as GitHub Actions. Contribute to front-end feature development using modern JavaScript frameworks such as React. Additional Responsibilities Modify existing code to correct errors, improve performance, and enhance functionality. Analyze applications and programs to improve efficiency and adapt to changing business requirements. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation covering application logic, development processes, and system modifications. Perform business analysis and support user training as needed.

Qualifications:

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related field, or equivalent practical experience. 4–6+ years of detail oriented software engineering experience. Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and deliver solutions aligned with business needs using a logical and structured approach. Experience supporting the development, enhancement, and maintenance of business applications. Strong project leadership and mentoring skills, including the ability to guide entry level engineers. Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and presentation skills. Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies, tools, and changing business priorities. Technical Skills Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash and PowerShell. Strong experience with SQL databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQL Server, as well as NoSQL platforms such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, and Redis. Familiarity with customer data platforms, ETL/ELT pipelines, and event-driven architectures. Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, VPC, IAM, and CloudFormation/CDK. Experience designing, building, and maintaining REST APIs using modern languages and frameworks, particularly Java and Spring. Working knowledge of GraphQL, SOAP/XML, Webhooks, and authentication protocols including OAuth2, JWT, API keys, Basic Auth, and SAML. Familiarity with standard data formats such as JSON, XML, CSV, and flat files. Experience with tools and frameworks such as Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, and Python-based API frameworks including Flask, FastAPI, and Django REST. Experience with messaging queues and middleware such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, and integration tools including Mulesoft, Apigee, Zapier, n8n, and Workato. Front-end development experience with React or similar modern JavaScript frameworks. Preferred Certifications AWS Certified Developer preferred. AWS Certified DevOps Engineer preferred. Preferred Attributes Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. A continuous improvement mindset with a passion for modern engineering practices. Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution. Experience working in fast-paced environments with multiple concurrent priorities.
